At Wooden Lofts we build custom made wood framed beds with the customer's needs in mind. Our Lofts come in all sizes, from Twin to Queen. Because our Lofts are built one at a time, and only after you have placed your order, we are able to customize it even further to fit your specific needs. If you have an extra long mattress, its no problem for us to accommodate it at no extra charge. We also offer several accessories that work with your Loft Bed to provide additional storage, and help to open up even more space in your home.

The stains I use do have a sealer mixed in with it, which helps protect the furniture from moisture, though it does not offer much protection against scratching, and gouging.

Because Douglas Fir is a soft wood, I do recommend adding a clear coat to your finish. This will add up to 3 additional layers of protection to your new Loft Bed which will all help to guard against scratching and gouging.

One of the benefits of the clear coat is that if the scratches are minor (not into the wood) they can be buffed out with finish grade sandpaper, without ruining the stained finish below.

Another benefit is that it helps to enhance the beauty of the stain, or if you decide to keep the Loft natural, the clear coat will enhance the woods grain patterns.

We offer the clear coat in 4 different types: Satin (no gloss), semi-gloss, gloss, and a high gloss as well.

We also offer to store you loft purchase to allow you to arrange for a truck to come and pick your order up (instead of having us deliver them). If you choose to do this, we will hold the kit(s) for up to 2 weeks provided you keep us updated on your situation. After the 2 week period, there will be a $10 per day storage fee. If we don't hear from you after 1 month from the date of build completion, we reserve the right to re-sell your kit to re-coup storage costs. Accomodations can be made for special situations.
